I think the biggest sewer system, and probably the most complicated I have worked on was on a scheme in south London.
I had to look into possible options of engineering solutions of how to prevent flooding of the current sewer system without causing issues to the rest of the surrounding and connecting system, and how to how this could best be solved by being too expensive.
Being in a relatively busy location in south london, where closing off areas to construct new sewers or maintain the current ones, was quite interesting to encounter and involved a lot of problem solving.
I would say it was the biggest in terms of the size of the sewers I was investigating and complicated based on a lot of factors to consider, for example topography of land, sizing of roads, what best ways to future proof the sewer for the worst case scenario.
