It’s something that just happened to fit together naturally for me. I always like science, maths and design and technology at school. In my spare time I enjoyed to make things in the design and technology workshop and I entered competitions with the things I had made (I rarely won, but I had fun!) I often saw problems and wanted to design solutions to them. When I realised I could do it as a career, it just sort of made sense. Though I liked all these different things for a while, it wasn’t until 13 that I decided I wanted to be an Aeronautical Engineer and at 20 I changed my mind and chose to do Biomedical Engineering and work with prosthetic limbs.

I knew a lot about engineering because of my dad and my brother who are both engineers. But it was always very interesting to me that everything that I used on a daily basis was designed or built by an engineer. So I decided that I also like to help people and make life easier. I also enjoyed STEM subjects a lot, they just made a lot of sense to me, I never liked subjects that I had to just memorise them… hence I became an engineer 😀
