Hmm, I would assume so. I’m guessing from sewage plants that you can smell on hot days when you drive past them! It’s just a massive version of the bathroom after someone has taken a long visit….

When I’m out on site and looking down open manholes, there is quite a strong smell of sewage!
The sewer gases smell is quite a distinctive smell similar to a rotten egg smell.

Some sewers have a FOG smell (which stands for Fat, Oil and Grease) and it is when drains are blocked up from having those poured down it. It smells strong and nasty.

Think of the everything that is flushed down a toilet and all the smell of dirty water mixed together, so quite smelly.
