• Question: Do you sometimes find your job a bit gruesome because it is about limbs and things like that because i think i would?

      Thankfully, I don’t do the gruesome side of this stuff. I leave that to the doctors and surgeons 🙂
      Whilst I am a biomedical engineer, I am very much on the engineering side of that. There are some people who work with animal tissues and animals, but I really don’t do that. If you’re okay with hearing about complications e.g. pressure sores then you’re okay. Sometimes I see pictures or descriptions of injuries which can be a bit gruesome, especially as I work with the military so I have seen photos of people with their legs blown off. BUT, it is definitely not a requirement of the job!
      Day to day, I spend my time writing code or reading journal papers and designing technology. I do not go into surgery or work with people until their wounds are healed, mainly because you can’t fit someone with a prosthetic limb until that has happened!
