Question: are there other uses for the plastics

Oh yes! there are loads of different type of plastics and there are many different applications for them. That is a very good question actually. when you say plastic to people, they normally think you are talking about the freezer bags 🙂 but plastics are used in many things, in aeroplanes, cars, ships, and many more. each of these has different components that can be made out of plastic. The plastic that I use in my project (thermoplastic) is called Polyamide, they use it in loads of industries, it’s very strong (like metals) but it is also very light-weight, so, for example, the reason aerospace and automotive industries are using these materials now is because they can make their products lightweight, which will lead to using less fuel, so it’s economically and environmentally better. That’s why composite materials are the future. 🙂 please ask me if you want further information.
