      So I studied maths at university and had an interest in applied maths and the getting into the environmental field.
      The majority of people who get into drainage engineering and sewage modelling are not all civil engineers.
      Yes the most common background is civil engineering, but there also includes people who studied maths, geography and geology.

      Also, if you are good at being in a team and working alone is good to have on your cv, and explain where you have done this.
      That and detailing your hobbies and interests shows people that you’re not just a robot, your are human and a well rounded individual.
