There are definitely more males than females who do engineering and biomedical engineering, but there is a good mix of people who do PhDs and other research. I don’t feel like I’m left out or anything though. The males and females I work with are all really friendly and helpful that it doesn’t really matter if we’re male or female, we’re all just people working on things we love to do! 🙂

I would say that the male/female ratio is definitely changing. In my company, we have a lot of female engineers and scientists. However, I know that’s not the case in all the companies. As Shruti also said it’s not about being male or female, we are all capable of doing what we love to do, and it shouldn’t matter what gender we are. 🙂
