The Milligram Zone student winner is…

scrivensy, congratulations!

During every event we ask the engineers and moderators to nominate their top student — one who’s made the most of the event, shown enthusiasm and asked some really great questions.

scrivensy from St Edward’s Church of England Academy was nominated by the engineers for “lots of good questions” and being “very engaged” throughout.

As the student winner, scrivensy will receive a certificate and a gift voucher.

Well done to scrivensy, and to everyone who took part. There were so many interesting questions, and comments, but there could only be one winner in each zone. Continue reading

Thank you from your winner – Shruti

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to post this message to say thank you. Firstly, thank you for giving me the chance to be part of such a great event.

Thank you so much to all the students who have kept me on my toes for two weeks asking me loads of questions. It’s so great to see so many of you engaging in STEM, even if you don’t think it’s the career option for you. I’ve been asked about everything from living on Mars, to what my favourite cheese is and why I prefer the Harry Potter books to the films! There have been so many things that have made me step back and think about things I haven’t thought about before and I am very grateful for the opportunities you gave me.

I also want to thank the teachers that have given all the students the opportunity to participate in the event. Without you we would have no one for us to talk to and inspire! I’m sure it was added work for you, but from what I’ve seen over the past few weeks, all the students and engineers have got a lot out of the event!

To my fellow engineers in the Milligram Zone: Alistair, Charlene, Faranak, Douglas and Mark. It’s been a pleasure getting to know what you do over the past couple of weeks. I’ve learned a lot about different parts of engineering and it’s been interesting for me to see how you’ve got into engineering and why you love your jobs. Continue reading
